Yes, I never wrote a pattern for anyone else, but for myself and I think it is quite a tough job. I generally jot down my pattern on a note book or simply take notes wherever I please and whenever I get some ideas. Sometimes I totally skip the writing part and just memorise the steps. But it was fun.
